I am the founder of Caps Basketball Clinic. (Since 1997) My mission is to teach the fundamentals of basketball to all skill levels from beginners to aspiring professionals. The world caliber of basketball played by many European players is the direct result of their superior understanding and focus of the fundamentals.
These are the same detailed fundamentals that I focus on with my students.

I am passionate about helping players that are serious and committed to practice and improvement. My coaching style focuses on a simple and detailed approach to teaching the shooting mechanics. I believe every player has their own DNA and I like to work with each individual differently according to their body capabilities. If you study the best shooters in the world such as Steph Curry, Caitlin Clark and Klay Thompson, you will notice they all have different shooting mechanics. With that in mind, I don’t teach each player to shoot with one particular method. I tailor my instruction to individual’s abilities and bio mechanics. There are basic fundamentals that I stress which will ultimately get the player to shooting the ball more efficiently and effectively.

For every lesson I will ask you to upload two different videos of your shot. The first will be face on with the camera centered and waist high. The second will be on the shooting hand side centered and waist high.
I will ask you what your typical miss is: short, long, left or right. The videos give me a great look at your shot and how to offer you the correction. I will then do a video voice over analysis of your shot explaining the cause and effect of your mechanics. I will then offer details on how to correct your form.

Finally, every lesson comes with a personalized video in which I demonstrate and detail everything covered in the analysis. I will help you understand why you are making these changes providing you with a step by step practice plan to improve your shot.

My daughter has been training with coach Chris and her shot has significantly improved. Shes been in AAU and school ball for 3 years And was not instructed on her shot. Coach Chris analyzes every athletes strengths and weaknesses and knows exactly what to do to help them improve. His attention to her individual shooting form and step by step clear instructions on how to improve have been instrumental to her game. Even her coach has noticed a huge improvement in her shot. We are grateful to coach Chris. Anyone with a student athlete who is serious about basketball would be remiss not to seek Coach Chriss help. Thanks Coach Chris

My daughter Lia has been working with Coach Chris and Caps Basketball for the last seven years. She just finished her basketball career at Munster High School with the following accolades: 1) Team leader in 3pt fg pct 2023, 2024, 2025 2) Conference leader in 3pt fg pct 2024 & 2025 3) Highest career 3 pt fg pct in school history (37%) 4) Munster HS girls basketball record for most three point field goals in a game (7) 12/22/23 v TF South 5) 34 of 90 (38%) on 3pt FGs in 2025 season I can unequivocally state that Coach Chris has been the single greatest contributor to her success as a basketball player and shooter. In December of '23 Lia was going through a mini "slump" where her shots were all hitting the left side of the rim. She went to a Sunday session in Crown Point with Coach Chris where he broke down her technique via video analysis and illustrated to Lia how her "shot line" was off....in just a few minutes. Five days later Lia broke the Munster school record for three pointers in a game on 7 of 11 shooting. That's how good his program is..... Analysis was clear. I knew something was off with his shot, but couldn't figure out what. Coach Chris clearly described what he was seeing, what he should be doing, demonstrated it and gave him a drill to work on it. Love it!
