Front and Center: The Vertical Arm Principle

Front and Center: The Vertical Arm Principle

About this course

Arm Movement Fundamentals In this 20 minute video I discuss, Our arm mechanics are based on a simple but important principle: the arms move vertically — up and down — not around the body. Rather than pulling the arms back or swinging them to the sides, we elevate and lower them directly in front of the chest. This keeps the arms centered and controlled at all times, maintaining a consistent position in your field of movement. The motion is a straight vertical path — raise, lower, repeat — with the arms staying anchored in front of the chest throughout.
