Teaching Philosophy
My coaching philosophy is built around one simple idea: ball flight is everything. Rather than chasing a picture-perfect swing that looks good at address, I focus on what actually matters — what the ball does in the air. The flight of the ball tells us exactly what's happening at impact, and that's where real improvement begins. Whether you're a junior picking up a club for the first time or a low-handicap player trying to sharpen your game, I use video analysis and ball flight data to give you clear, honest feedback and a practical path forward. I believe every golfer is different, and the best lesson is one that's tailored to your game, your body, and your goals — not a generic template. My aim is always to help you understand your own swing better, so that the improvements you make on the lesson tee translate directly to the course.
About the coach
I'm a PGA Associate Professional based at Tavistock Golf Club in Devon, England, where I run the club's Junior Academy and provide coaching across all levels of the game — from complete beginners and junior golfers through to competitive low-handicap players. My coaching career has been shaped by a deep belief that ball flight is the most honest feedback any golfer can receive. Instead of prescribing a textbook-perfect swing, I work with each student to understand what their ball is doing and why, then make targeted changes that create real, lasting improvement. I use video analysis in my lessons to bring clarity to what can otherwise feel like an invisible process, helping students see exactly what's happening and understand the changes we're working on. Beyond coaching, I stay sharp by competing regularly on the Devon & Cornwall PGA circuit, which keeps me connected to the realities of playing under pressure and performing on the course. Whether you're looking to break 90 for the first time, develop a junior's love of the game, or fine-tune the details of an already strong game, I'm here to help you improve in a way that's grounded, practical, and genuinely enjoyable.
