About the coach
Director of Instruction The Lab Monterey by AMG
Wills gave his first golf lesson the age of 19 and relocated from Bluefield, Virginia to Orlando, Florida at the age of 21 to begin his teaching career. In 2012, Wills began to work as an assistant to his mentor and coaching inspiration, PGA Tour coach Sean Foley. After working as an assistant professional at Lake Nona Golf Club in 2013, which at the time featured 5 of the top 50 players in the world, to study PGA Tour players practice and playing habits, Wills moved into private instruction full time. Wills gives credit to one of his students, former Notre Dame football coach Lou Holtz as a coaching mentor. His competitive players have included dozens of elite juniors, NCAA players and touring professionals on the LPGA Tour, Korn Ferry Tour and PGA Tour Champions. Wills other clients include billionaire CEOs, celebrities, professional athletes, and recreational players looking for long term improvement. His coaching philosophy is that each player has a unique swing and style of play, and he bases his swing philosophies around the understanding of human movement and the physics of the ball flight laws. Along with his time under Foley he credits Shaun Webb and Mike Granato of Athletic Motion Golf, Dr. Brendan McLaughlin, Dr. Mark Bull and golf instructor David Lee for his continued education.
