Teaching Philosophy
My coaching philosophy is simple: every golfer is different, and every lesson should reflect that. I take a personalised, no-pressure approach — whether we're working on your full swing, sharpening your short game, or building the confidence to handle awkward on-course situations. I believe that understanding what your swing is actually doing, and why, is the foundation of lasting improvement. That's why I lean into technology and data — from video analysis to sensor-based feedback — to give you clear, objective insights that you can act on right away. I'll build you customised drills that fit how your body moves, so changes feel natural rather than forced. Before I came into golf coaching, I spent 20 years in retail, which taught me how to listen, connect with people, and explain things in a way that makes sense. I bring all of that into every session — on the range, on the course, or online. Golf should be enjoyable, and my goal is always to make it more fun while helping you genuinely get better.
About the coach
I'm a PGA coach working out of Broome Manor Golf Complex in Swindon, and the heart of what I do is helping everyday golfers play better golf and enjoy the game more. My journey into coaching is a little different from most — I spent 20 years working in retail before making the switch to golf instruction. That background gave me something I think is just as valuable as any technical qualification: the ability to connect with people, understand what they need, and communicate in a way that actually lands. Whether you're a complete beginner or a seasoned club player looking to sharpen up, I meet you where you are. I coach across all areas of the game — full swing mechanics, short game, and building the kind of consistency that holds up when it matters most on the course. I'm also a big believer in using technology and data to take the guesswork out of improvement. From detailed swing video analysis to sensor-based feedback, I use every tool available to make sure we're working on the right things, in the right order. With over 316 lessons delivered online and a strong track record of in-person coaching at Broome Manor, I've built a reputation for being patient, positive, and genuinely invested in my students' progress.
