Teaching Philosophy
I believe that the best coaches are players at heart and have pursued mastering their own craft. Having competed at almost every level, I know what it takes to score under pressure, manage a round, and trust your swing when it counts. My approach to coaching is rooted in fundamentals and real, on-course experience — not just theory. I focus on helping students understand their own game deeply, whether that means dialing in ball-striking fundamentals, sharpening their short game, or building the mental resilience to compete. Every student is different, and I tailor my instruction to fit their goals — whether they're chasing a handicap milestone or trying to break through on the competitive stage. We will identify areas of your game that need improvement and come up with a customized plan to help you develop a well-rounded game and achieve your goals. Real development takes time and consistency, so if you are a serious player I highly recommend the unlimited monthly plan so we can get consistent work done over a longer period of time as opposed to just single lessons here and there.
About the coach
I'm a professional golfer and instructor based in Scottsdale, Arizona, originally from Jewell, Iowa. I played collegiately at Indian Hills CC where I was a two-time All-American and a part of the national championship team in 2015. I was the #3 ranked JUCO prospect in the country and went on to play Division 1 golf for a top-25 program at the University of Missouri. I turned pro in 2019 and have competed across professional development tours, including the Korn Ferry Tour. I have won two professional events including the 2024 Waterloo Open where I shot -23 for three rounds to win $50,000. I’ve also advanced through various stages of Q-School and have held status on PGA Tour Canada and PGA Tour Latinoamerica. My low round in competition is a 61 (-11). Having competed at almost every level of golf I understand what what it takes to advance your game to the next level because I’ve likely been where you are right now. There are many things I know now that I wish I knew when I was younger trying to climb the ranks. I had no guidance from someone who has been where I was trying to go, so I had to learn many things the hard way over time. I’m looking to be a mentor to other competitive players who want to see how good they can get, and help speed up their development. If you want instruction grounded in real playing experience and a genuine passion for the game, let's get to work.
