Teaching Philosophy

My approach to coaching starts with one core belief: there is no single method that works for everyone, and I will never try to force you into one. My job is to understand you — your flexibility, your instincts, your movement patterns and tendencies, then build a set of fundamentals that fits your natural swing, not someone else's. I've spent 30 years studying every dimension of the golf swing: mechanics and movement patterns, wrist and clubhead release, launch monitor and 3D ball and club data, ground reaction forces, and more. I've also studied how people learn, and how to deliver feedback in a way that helps habits form faster and stick longer. With all of that technical knowledge at my fingertips, my actual goal in every lesson is simplicity. I want you playing free-minded golf — not juggling a list of swing thoughts, but feeling one powerful key that influences multiple areas at once. That's how I simplify the complex. When I watch you swing, I zero in on the root cause of the problem, not the symptoms — that diagnostic ability is my greatest skill. I use cutting-edge tools like Trackman, HackMotion, and 2D & 3D video analysis to make the invisible visible, so you understand not just what to change, but why. My promise is that you'll leave every lesson knowing exactly what makes your swing work — and what to do when it doesn't.
