Teaching Philosophy
I believe good coaching starts with clarity. Golfers have more access to information than ever before, but more information doesn't always lead to better golf. My job is to cut through the noise, identify what actually matters, and give each player a clear direction to work toward. I don't believe there is one perfect golf swing or one solution that works for everyone. I use video, ball-flight data, and player feedback to understand the root cause of an issue before deciding what needs to change. From there, I believe in simple, direct guidance. Every player should understand what we're working on, why it matters, and what they should do when they leave a lesson or finish an online analysis. Most importantly, I want my players to understand their own game. My goal isn't to give you another swing thought every time you practice - it's to help you recognize your tendencies, understand your ball flight, and know what you need to work on. Give you clarity. Give you a plan. Help you become a better golfer.
About the coach
I’m Seth Roop, a golf instructor from Fort Wayne, Indiana. I picked up golf at 11 and quickly fell in love with the game. At 13, I underwent scoliosis surgery at Shriners Children’s Hospital. Four years later, I was honored to serve as one of two National Patient Ambassadors, sharing my experience and representing other patients across the country. I went on to play college golf at the University of Saint Francis while studying Finance. My experiences both on and off the course have shaped the way I approach coaching: with patience, resilience, and a belief that every player can find a way to improve. Today, I focus on helping players understand their tendencies, build better movement patterns, and develop confidence in their game. I believe the best coaching meets the player where they are and finds a practical path forward.
