Teaching Philosophy

I believe that golf, the greatest game, need not be difficult. When you apply the correct mechanics, every golfer — regardless of starting point — can play to a significantly higher standard. My coaching isn't about quick fixes; it's about building a genuine, lasting understanding of the swing and the game. While I'm happy to offer a standalone lesson, my real focus is on structured programmes. This allows me to create a tailored learning environment built around each student's specific needs, goals, and timeline. I set clear, measurable targets from the outset, so we always know where we're heading and how we're going to get there. I'm deeply committed to my own development as a coach. I regularly attend seminars, study under some of the world's best instructors, and have welcomed elite educators — including Andrew Rice, James Ridyard, Andy Plummer, David Orr and Joseph Mayo— to hold events at The Drift. That relentless curiosity is what keeps my coaching sharp and current. My primary expertise is in reducing handicaps. I work mostly with club golfers, and nothing gives me more satisfaction than watching someone's game transform through a combination of sound mechanics, structured practice, and a clear, personalised plan. Video analysis and launch monitor data (via TrackMan) allow me to bring objectivity and precision to every session — so progress is never a guess.
