Teaching Philosophy
My coaching philosophy is simple: it's not just about swing changes — it's about helping you shoot lower scores in the most simplified way possible. I believe every golfer is unique, so I take the time to understand your goals, your strengths, and what's really holding you back before we ever make a change. My approach is rooted in respect, patience, and understanding, and I pride myself on building genuine relationships with my students rather than delivering cookie-cutter instruction. I place a strong emphasis on the short game and scoring from 100 yards and in, because that's where most golfers leave the most shots on the course. Alongside technique, I've invested heavily in studying golf psychology, because I firmly believe that a strong mental approach is just as vital as any swing change. When you combine sound technique with a clear, confident mindset, that's when real, lasting improvement happens. Whether we're working together in person at Basset Down or remotely through video analysis, I walk the journey with you — keeping you accountable, answering your questions, and making sure you're never left guessing. I don't just want to give you a lesson; I want to transform how you play and how much you enjoy the game.
About the coach
I'm a PGA Professional with over 15 years of coaching experience, based at Basset Down Golf Complex in Swindon, Wiltshire. My coaching covers the full spectrum — from complete beginners and junior golfers to elite players looking to sharpen their competitive edge — and I bring the same structured, honest approach to every student I work with.
As a former standout amateur competitor in both the UK and the US, I understand what it takes to perform under pressure, and I've channelled that competitive experience into a coaching system that's clear, purposeful, and results-driven.
I'm a TPI Level 1 and 2 certified coach and hold a CAPTO Level 2 qualification in putting analysis, and I've dedicated significant time to studying golf psychology — because I know that what happens between your ears is just as important as what happens in your swing.
My speciality is the short game. Scoring from 100 yards and in is the fastest route to lower scores for most golfers, and it's where I focus much of my energy. I use GC Quad Max technology alongside detailed video analysis to give you real data and real feedback — not guesswork.
