Mike Barge

About the coach

Director of Instruction at Hazeltine National since 1986. Hazeltine has hosted numerous National Championships and most recently held the 2016 Ryder Cup matches. The Club will also be the site of 2029 Ryder Cup.
Mike has been named Minnesota PGA Teacher of the Year twice and number one ranked instructor in Minnesota five times by Golf Digest. As a player, he won the 2006 Minnesota State Open and has also won the State Senior Open. For all of his accomplishments as a teacher and player, Mike was inducted into the Minnesota Golf Hall of Fame in 2019.
His teaching philosophy is based on the student, not a method. Golfers want solid contact with minimal curve and all the distance they are capable of. Control the ball with proven fundamentals.
