Teaching Philosophy
I believe golf should be enjoyable and achievable for everyone — not just elite players. My focus is on the recreational golfer who wants real, measurable improvement. After more than 35 years of playing this game, I know exactly what it feels like to struggle on the course, and I know the specific adjustments that make the biggest difference. Breaking 100 is a milestone that transforms how you feel about golf, and breaking 90 takes that even further. I build my lessons around those concrete goals, giving students the fundamentals they need without overwhelming them with technical jargon. Whether it's getting the swing path right — learning to approach from the inside and follow through correctly — or cleaning up the short game mistakes that add strokes unnecessarily, I focus on the changes that will show up on the scorecard. I became certified through the Canadian Golf Teachers Federation because I wanted to back my passion with proper, structured training in teaching technique. My job is to meet you where you are, understand your game, and give you a clear path forward.
About the coach
I'm a CGTF-certified golf instructor operating under the KalGolf brand, with over 35 years of personal experience on the course. My journey in golf has given me a genuine understanding of what recreational golfers go through — the frustrations, the breakthroughs, and the incredible satisfaction that comes from finally hitting those scoring milestones. I earned my certification through the Canadian Golf Teachers Federation, an organization affiliated with the World Golf Teachers Federation, which required me to meet rigorous standards across playing ability, written knowledge, and teaching practice. My specialty is working with everyday golfers who are serious about improving — particularly those chasing that first round under 100, and then pushing on toward breaking 90. These are the scores that change how a golfer sees themselves and how much they enjoy the game. I combine my decades of playing experience with the structured teaching methodology from my CGTF training to deliver lessons that are practical, straightforward, and focused on results. If you're ready to stop spinning your wheels and start seeing your scores drop, I'd love to work with you.
