Teaching Philosophy
My teaching philosophy starts with a simple truth: no two swings are alike, so I'd never teach everyone the same way. Every student I work with gets a personalized approach built around their body, their tendencies, and their goals — not a cookie-cutter method pulled from a textbook. I believe that real, lasting improvement comes from understanding the root cause of your problems — not just patching symptoms. Before we change anything, we gather the data needed to validate what's actually happening and stop the guessing. From there, we build a structured plan with specific drills and clear checkpoints so you always know where you're headed and why. The best players in the world excel in four areas: long game, short game, course management, and mindset. I take a whole-game approach because a great full swing is only one piece of the puzzle. Whether you're working on ball-striking consistency, wedge play, putting, or learning to practice with purpose, every lesson is designed to translate directly to the course — not just the range. I've been fortunate to learn from some of the best coaches and biomechanics researchers in the world, and I bring that depth of knowledge into every session. But my goal isn't to impress you with complexity — it's to simplify what matters, keep you focused on the process, and help you build a game you can be proud of.
About the coach
I'm a PGA Professional and the Director of Instruction at Rolling Hills Country Club, located south of Los Angeles — one of the premier golf facilities in California. I've been recognized by Golf Digest as one of the Best Young Teachers in America three times, was named the 2025 SCPGA Metro Chapter Teacher of the Year, and have been honored as a U.S. Kids Golf Top 50 Coach.
I grew up in central Pennsylvania and attended Penn State University before beginning my professional journey at the #1 ranked golf school in America under Golf Digest Hall of Fame Instructor Jim McLean in Miami. After becoming a Jim McLean Certified Instructor, I expanded my expertise by working with Golf Digest's only Top 50 Instructor and Club Fitter, James Leitz, and later became Director of Instruction and Master Instructor at the Jim McLean Golf School's Miami Beach location. Along the way, I've trained with and shadowed over 10 of the top 50 coaches in the country, completed advanced biomechanics work using 3D motion capture systems, and earned certifications in TrackMan, TPI Fitness, SAM PuttLab, and short game through James Ridyard's Wedge Matrix program.
I've coached players at every level — from beginners finding their footing to LPGA Tour players and Epson Tour winners. I've also been named a coach for Team California and the U.S. National Development Program, working with some of the most promising junior talent in the country.
My approach is direct and data-driven: I help you understand what's actually causing your misses, build a clear plan to fix it, and give you specific drills that create real improvement. You won't get a laundry list of swing thoughts — you'll get clarity, structure, and a game you can trust.
