Teaching Philosophy
My teaching philosophy is simple: every golfer moves differently, so every golfer needs a plan that fits them. I do not believe in giving every student the same fix or trying to force everyone into one specific model. The first step is understanding what is actually causing the issue. Too many golfers try to fix symptoms without knowing the root cause, which usually leads to more frustration. Before making changes, I like to look at the swing, gather the right information, and make sure we are working on the thing that will actually make the biggest difference. From there, the goal is to give you a clear plan. That means specific drills, simple checkpoints, and a better understanding of what you are working on and why. I want every student to leave a lesson knowing exactly what to practice and how it connects to their game. Golf is more than just the full swing. The best players are strong in the long game, short game, course management, and mindset, so I like to take a complete approach to improvement. Whether we are working on ball striking, wedges, putting, practice structure, or how to play smarter on the course, the goal is always to help it transfer to better golf, not just better swings on the range. I have been fortunate to learn from some of the best coaches and biomechanics researchers in the game, but my goal is not to make things complicated. My goal is to simplify what matters, give you a plan you can trust, and help you build a game you are proud of.
About the coach
I'm a PGA Professional and the Director of Instruction at Rolling Hills Country Club, located south of Los Angeles — one of the premier golf facilities in California. I've been recognized by Golf Digest as one of the Best Young Teachers in America three times, was named the 2025 SCPGA Metro Chapter Teacher of the Year, and have been honored as a U.S. Kids Golf Top 50 Coach.
I grew up in central Pennsylvania and attended Penn State University before beginning my professional journey at the #1 ranked golf school in America under Golf Digest Hall of Fame Instructor Jim McLean in Miami. After becoming a Jim McLean Certified Instructor, I expanded my expertise by working with Golf Digest's only Top 50 Instructor and Club Fitter, James Leitz, and later became Director of Instruction and Master Instructor at the Jim McLean Golf School's Miami Beach location. Along the way, I've trained with and shadowed over 10 of the top 50 coaches in the country, completed advanced biomechanics work using 3D motion capture systems, and earned certifications in TrackMan, TPI Fitness, SAM PuttLab, and short game through James Ridyard's Wedge Matrix program.
I've coached players at every level — from beginners finding their footing to LPGA Tour players and Epson Tour winners. I've also been named a coach for Team California and the U.S. National Development Program, working with some of the most promising junior talent in the country.
My approach is direct and data-driven: I help you understand what's actually causing your misses, build a clear plan to fix it, and give you specific drills that create real improvement. You won't get a laundry list of swing thoughts — you'll get clarity, structure, and a game you can trust.
