Teaching Philosophy

My coaching philosophy is simple: every golfer moves, sees and learns differently, so there is no single perfect putting stroke. My role is to identify the areas that are costing you shots, understand why they are happening, and give you clear, practical changes that are easy to train. I focus on the key skills that influence putting performance: aim, start line, face control, pace, green reading and consistency - while building a stroke that works naturally for you. I believe good coaching should make things simpler, not more complicated. Every lesson should leave you with a clear understanding of what to work on, why it matters, and how to practice it effectively.

About the coach

I’m Joe Bray, a PGA Professional and specialist putting coach based in Bristol, UK. I’ve been coaching and fitting in the area of putting for 8 years and I currently work with golfers of all levels, from club players through to elite amateurs and professionals.

My coaching focuses on helping players understand their individual putting tendencies and improve the areas that have the biggest impact on performance. This includes aim, face control, start line, pace control, green reading and building a more repeatable stroke.

I use technology and detailed analysis where appropriate, but my priority is always to keep coaching simple, practical and easy to apply. Every player should leave with a clear understanding of what they need to improve and exactly how to practice it.
