Teaching Philosophy
My passion for coaching grew directly from my own journey as a competitive player. After turning professional and working with accomplished coaches myself, I witnessed first-hand how transformative great instruction can be — and how technology, when used correctly, accelerates that transformation. That experience shaped the way I teach. I believe every student deserves a plan that's built around them: their body, their swing, and their goals. I use an analytical but straightforward approach, drawing on tools like TrackMan, 3D motion analysis, SAM Putt Lab, and Sportsbox 3D to give you objective data that makes improvement undeniable. But data alone doesn't build a better golfer — communication does. I take the time to listen carefully, understand what you're working toward, and translate technical insights into clear, actionable steps you can actually feel and repeat. Whether you're a beginner picking up a club for the first time, a junior competitor chasing a scholarship, or a seasoned player looking to sharpen your game, I bring the same level of care and attention to every lesson. My goal is simple: help you play your best golf and enjoy this great game for years to come.
About the coach
I'm a PGA Class A Professional and Director of Instruction at The Country Club in Salt Lake City, Utah, with a playing and coaching career that spans the country. Born in Seattle and raised in Princeton, NJ, I was introduced to golf at age 4 by my grandfather. I went on to earn a golf scholarship to Rutgers University, where I served as team captain in my junior and senior seasons and graduated with a degree in Economics. After turning professional in 2011, I competed on developmental tours across the country, gaining experience that would shape my entire approach to instruction. I've held positions at Denver Country Club, Jupiter Island Club, Gulph Mills Golf Club, Huntingdon Valley Country Club, The Club at Las Campanas in Santa Fe, and Bonneville Golf Club — before settling into my current role leading instruction at The Country Club and founding The Range SLC, an indoor TrackMan studio I own and operate. On the competitive side, I've won three Section PGA Championships and been honored as Section PGA Player of the Year. Golf Digest has recognized me as one of the Best Young Teachers in America and a Best Teacher in State. I'm also TPI Level 3 Certified and a Titleist Staff Professional, bringing a fitness-informed, technology-driven perspective to every coaching session. I deliver customized video analysis, personalized drills, and detailed feedback — whether in person or remotely — so that every student walks away with a clear picture of what to work on and how to do it.
