Teaching Philosophy
My approach to coaching is built on the foundation of what I've lived — competing at the highest collegiate level, earning All-American honors, leading a college program as head coach, and continuing to compete professionally. I know what it takes to build a complete golfer, not just a good swing. Every student I work with gets the benefit of that full-circle experience. I believe the game is won between the ears as much as it is on the range. My coaching is structured, purposeful, and tailored to where each student is in their journey — whether they're a junior picking up a club for the first time, a collegiate player chasing All-American dreams, or an adult golfer trying to break their scoring barrier. I focus on fundamentals that hold up under pressure, course management that saves strokes, and the mental discipline that separates good players from great ones. I've spent time teaching all levels of golfers — from PGA Junior League participants to competitive college athletes — and I bring the same energy and attention to detail to every lesson. My goal is simple: to help you become the best version of yourself on the golf course.
About the coach
I'm a professional golfer, three-time NCCAA college All-American, and former collegiate head coach with a passion for developing golfers at every level. I grew up in Irmo, South Carolina, and played collegiate golf at Columbia International University (CIU), where I earned All-American honors three consecutive times and All-Appalachian Athletic Conference recognition.
After my playing career, I served as an assistant golf professional at Spring Valley Country Club in Columbia, SC, where I gave lessons and helped run the PGA Junior League program. In 2023, I was named Head Men's Golf Coach at CIU — becoming only the second former CIU athlete ever to return as head coach at their alma mater. Under my leadership, the program achieved tournament victories and All-Region recognition.
I've also continued to compete professionally, picking up wins on the Carolina Mountain Professional Golf Tour in 2022 and 2024. That combination of playing, teaching, and coaching at a high level gives me a unique perspective that I bring to every student I work with. Whether you're just starting out or chasing competitive goals, I'm here to help you play smarter, score lower, and love the game.
