Teaching Philosophy
Golf has been my life since I was a junior in Huddersfield, and everything I learned grinding through the EuroPro Tour, competing on the Challenge Tour, and eventually earning my DP World Tour card has shaped the way I teach. I spent years playing alongside some of the best players in the world and learning from world-class coaches — and I bring all of that real, hard-won experience into every single lesson. My approach is simple: I want to understand YOUR game, YOUR goals, and then give you clear, practical improvements you can actually take to the course. I don't believe in overcomplicating things. Whether I'm working with a complete beginner or a single-figure handicapper looking to take the next step, I focus on what matters most for that individual — be it ball striking, course management, the short game, or the mental side of competing. Above all, I want every golfer who works with me to leave feeling more confident, more capable, and genuinely excited about the game. That's what drives me as a coach.
About the coach
I'm a former DP World Tour professional with 94 tour appearances who now dedicates his time to helping golfers of all abilities unlock their potential across Yorkshire and online worldwide.
Born in Harrogate and now based in Huddersfield, I turned professional in 2006 and spent the best part of a decade working my way through the EuroPro and Challenge Tours before earning my DP World Tour card in 2015.
Career highlights include winning the PGA EuroPro Tour Order of Merit in 2011 with four tour victories, competing at The Open Championship at Royal Liverpool in 2014, and recording a tied 6th place finish at the prestigious 2018 Omega Dubai Desert Classic.
Across my playing career I competed alongside many of the best players in the world and absorbed knowledge from some of the greatest coaches the game has to offer.
Since transitioning into coaching, I've built a thriving lesson programme across 3 venues — Longley Park Golf Club, Waterton Park Golf Club, and Woodlands Driving Range where I deliver lessons on the latest Trackman 4.
I also offer online lessons via video analysis for students who can't make it in person.
Off the lesson tee, I co-founded the 2020protour — an inclusive professional and elite amateur tour now in its 7th successful season — and work as a golf agent for Ignis Golf Management and co-founded Elite Golf Events
