Teaching Philosophy
My coaching philosophy centres on a bespoke, player-first methodology — because no two golfers are the same. Whether I'm working with a tour professional, an elite junior, or a club golfer who just wants to lower their scores, I believe every session must be tailored to the individual's tendencies, strengths, and goals. It's not all about technique. Scoring golf is won and lost inside 100 yards, and that's where I specialise. My '100 Yards and In' system gives players a structured, progressive framework to master wedge play and putting — from effective lie control and loft management to aiming precision and green reading. I place equal importance on the mental side of the game: focus, composure under pressure, course management, and smart decision-making. I use cutting-edge technology — including Capto Putting software and GC Quad — to provide precise, data-driven feedback, ensuring every player leaves with a clear understanding of their game and a practical plan to improve it. My goal is simple: to help every golfer I work with become a true artist from 100 yards and in.
About the coach
I'm a PGA Qualified golf coach and the founder of the '100 Yards and In' coaching method, based at Eaton Golf Club in the heart of Cheshire. With over a decade of experience working with golfers at every level — from complete beginners to DP World Tour professionals — I've dedicated my career to helping players unlock their true potential on the course.
I serve as Head Coach at the Eaton Junior Academy, where I guide young golfers through structured development programmes to prepare them for competitive play. I'm also proud to work as a collegiate coach and Isle of Man county golf coach, supporting players at representative level. My players have gone on to compete at the highest levels of amateur golf, including the Carris Trophy and Boys Amateur, and I've had the privilege of helping players reach the DP World Tour.
My specialist area is the short game. I created the '100 Yards and In' system specifically to address the part of the game where most shots are genuinely won or lost. The method combines technical wedge play and putting instruction with structured practice, measurable progress tracking, and the mental skills needed to perform consistently under pressure.
