Teaching Philosophy
I believe every golfer is unique, and that's what makes coaching so rewarding. Whether you're a complete beginner picking up a club for the first time, a competitive amateur chasing scratch, or even a touring professional looking to sharpen your game, my approach starts in the same place — understanding you and what you want to achieve. My coaching has taken me from the heathland fairways of Kent all the way to the golf academies of China, and the one thing that never changes is that there's no single coaching style that fits every player. I use data-driven tools like Trackman to give you precise, objective feedback on every aspect of your swing, so we're working from facts rather than guesswork. But technology is just a tool — the real work is in building your understanding of your own game and giving you the right feels and concepts that will stick on the course, not just on the range. I want lessons to be relaxed, fun, and clear. Golf should be simpler, not more complicated, and everything I do is aimed at making that a reality for you. From structured lesson packages to custom fitting, my goal is to make sure every session moves you meaningfully forward.
About the coach
I'm a PGA Advanced Professional and Head Professional at Wrotham Heath Golf Club in the heart of Kent — a historic heathland course that has been home to great golf since 1906. I've been a PGA Professional since 2009, and in the years since, I've had the privilege of coaching golfers at every level, from beginners taking their first swings to elite amateurs and Women’s Tour Professionals. My own playing career gave me a strong foundation — I won the 2008 Royal Cinque Ports Kent Winter Trials — and that competitive experience shapes the way I think about the game and what it takes to improve. After building my coaching credentials in England, I moved to the Far East with my wife and fellow PGA Professional Hayleigh, where we set up a golf academy and worked with some of China's best young amateurs. That experience saw me nominated Hainan Golf Coach of the Year in 2016, and it deepened my ability to coach across very different styles and cultures. Back at Wrotham Heath, I lead a comprehensive coaching and fitting operation — offering individual lessons, structured player packages, and custom fitting across seven of the world's leading equipment brands. I'm a Trackman Level 2 and TPI Level 2 Golf Coach, so I combine the latest in ball-flight and body movement data with a clear, personalised approach to help you understand your game and lower your scores. Whether your goal is breaking 100 or competing at the highest amateur level, I'm here to help you get there.
