About the coach
Hi, I’m Dan McCracken—a PGA Teaching Professional and Director of Instruction at Five Iron Golf NYC. I’ve been lucky to work with players of all levels, from total beginners to competitive golfers, and my main goal is to help you get better and enjoy the process. With a background in Professional Golf Management from Penn State and experience at top-tier clubs like Philadelphia Cricket Club and Congressional CC, I bring both tour-level insight and a laid-back, results-driven approach to every lesson.
My coaching philosophy is rooted in building efficient, repeatable swings through a clear understanding of each player’s unique mechanics and tendencies.
One area I’m especially passionate about is helping players gain speed and distance. I’ve gone deep into the training myself—hitting 143.3 mph club head speed and 204.4 mph ball speed—and I enjoy helping others safely add speed in a way that fits their swing and goals.

Coach Dan can roll with anything a student throws at him. I'm all over the map, physically, but the mark of a true pro is adaptation and delivery. So psychological this game. Dan has a head for not only the most intricate swing movements and how those relate to others, but also an uncanny ability to present ideas that can be quickly adopted and used now, rather than in two years. It's all about the results.

If Ben Hogan were available to give us lessons, he'd be Dan McCracken, only Dan is such a good 'people person', that I think even the great Hogan would have tipped his hat in the presence of Mr. McCracken's greatness. I'm anxious to renew my Skillest subscription with Dan. I want to give him my money because he provides more value than anything I can find, anywhere, and I want to support him any way that I can.

Decisive, highly-intelligent, deep-diving, unafraid to delve into the most-advanced swing concepts as they relate to his students, and puts in more time than anyone out there for those who he knows value his amazing communications and golf instruction skillset. Quickly becoming a legend. Dan McCracken is the goat.

I'm consistently impressed with Dan's work ethic. He's not only a talented player and PGA Pr, but he's a coach who puts as much, if not even more, time into his students as he does his own game, which if you go to YouTube and put in his name, you will see and hear his incredible swing and strikes. I'm lucky to have stumbled upon this fine professional golfer, who coaches.
