About the coach
Hi, I’m Dan McCracken—a PGA Teaching Professional and National Director of Instruction at Five Iron Golf. I’ve been lucky to work with players of all levels, from total beginners to competitive golfers, and my main goal is to help you get better and enjoy the process. With a background in Professional Golf Management from Penn State and experience at top-tier clubs like Philadelphia Cricket Club and Congressional CC, I bring both tour-level insight and a laid-back, results-driven approach to every lesson.
My coaching philosophy is rooted in building efficient, repeatable swings through a clear understanding of each player’s unique mechanics and tendencies.
One area I’m especially passionate about is helping players gain speed and distance. I’ve gone deep into the training myself—hitting 143.3 mph club head speed and 204.4 mph ball speed—and I enjoy helping others safely add speed in a way that fits their swing and goals.
If you’re looking to improve your swing mechanics, increase your speed, or simply become a more confident and consistent golfer, I’d be excited to work with you.
If you’d like to learn more about my style and see whether we’d be a good fit, shoot me a message and we can schedule a free consultation call.

The dedication, time, and effort Dan gives me are just impossible to describe qualitatively or quantitatively. It is smack dab in the middle of the holiday season, he had his family, other students, an army of other teaching pros to recruit, train, mentor, manage, and coddle, and his own wants, needs, and passions to try and find time for, yet he relentlessly and deggedly sticks with me no matter what I throw at him, and believe me it is a LOT. Kudos to you, Dan, for not only all you do for us all, but for your kind-spirited self, which rings true in ways that equate to the betterment of us as golfers, but also is teachable for how we ourselves can learn how to conduct ourselves for the greater good of everyone. Just one big hats off to you, Dan. Have a very happy holiday time with your family, sir.

Dan McCracken has three brains. (Just kidding.) But, he's smart enough to have three times more mental capacity than anyone else teaching golf. Dan not only thinks in his own mental space, but also the mind of his student, and then can add to the mix the thinking of others. Maybe he has four brains. Maybe five. I just think he is limitless!
