Teaching Philosophy
I believe great coaching starts with listening. Every golfer is different — different goals, different schedules, different strengths — and my job is to meet you where you are and help you become the best version of yourself. I don't believe in forcing a textbook technique onto anyone. Instead, I focus on understanding what you're already doing and making that better, whether it's your full swing, your short game, or how you organise your time on the range. Short game is my specialist area, and I'm passionate about helping golfers of all levels learn to chip and pitch with confidence — because that's where shots are really saved. Beyond technique, I put a big emphasis on how you actually score: course management, practice structure, and the mental side of playing your best when it counts. Having competed at elite amateur and professional level for over a decade, I've been around some of the best coaches in the world and I bring that experience to every lesson. I also run performance days that combine short game, long game, putting, equipment, and on-course coaching — because golf is a complete game, and improving it should be too.
About the coach
I'm a PGA Professional and Head Professional at Hayston Golf Club in Kirkintilloch, near Glasgow, Scotland. I turned professional in 2017 and have since competed across the Pro Golf Tour, EuroPro Tour, Tartan Pro Tour, and Challenge Tour — travelling the world and learning what it truly takes to perform at a high level. As a former Scottish international amateur, I've experienced elite golf from both sides of the ropes, and that background shapes everything I do as a coach. My tournament record includes winning the Scottish Young Professionals' Championship by seven shots, a Deer Park Masters title won in a playoff, a course record in Dumfries & Galloway, and a runner-up finish in my very first Scottish PGA Championship. Throughout my playing career I've worked alongside some of the leading coaches in the UK, and I now bring that depth of knowledge to golfers of all abilities — from complete beginners to competitive club players and beyond. My specialist area is the short game, and I genuinely believe that everyone can learn to chip better. I also offer full swing lessons, video analysis, and online coaching, and I run group performance days that cover every aspect of the game. Whether you're looking to fix a specific fault, shoot lower scores, or simply enjoy golf more, I'll give you honest, practical coaching built around who you are as a player — not a cookie-cutter template.
