Teaching Philosophy
I believe that every golfer's journey is unique, and there's no single blueprint that works for everyone. My job is to help you discover the path that works best for you — whether you're a junior just starting out, an amateur trying to break 80, or a competitive player chasing the next level. I draw on everything I learned competing on the DP World Tour: the discipline, the course management, the mental resilience, and the technical refinements that separate good players from great ones. I offer honest, specific feedback grounded in real competitive experience — not just theory. For my junior players, I also work closely with parents to make sure the home environment supports what we're building on the course. Golf is a long game, and the habits you build early matter enormously. Whether you're working with me in person at Rio Golf Academy in Orlando or through video lessons online, my goal is always the same: to help you think, train, and play like a tour pro.
About the coach
I'm a DP World Tour winner and full-time golf coach based in Orlando, Florida, where I coach at Rio Golf Academy. I grew up in Hexham, England, in a golfing family — my father and both older brothers played to a high level — so golf has been in my DNA from the very beginning. I went on to play college golf at the University of Tennessee, where I captained the team, earned All-American honors, and represented Europe in the Palmer Cup and Great Britain & Ireland in the Walker Cup in 2009. I turned professional in 2010 and spent 2 years competing on the Alps Tour and Challenge Tour before earning my DP World Tour card. In January 2018, I won the BMW SA Open — one of the highlights of my career — and went on to compete in WGC events against the best players in the world. Now, I channel all of that competitive experience into coaching. My brand, Golf IQ by CP, reflects my belief that great golf is about smart, individualized development — not cookie-cutter instruction. I work with golfers of all levels, with a particular passion for junior development and helping players build the mental and technical foundations for lasting success. With over 400 online lessons delivered and a home base at Rio Golf Academy, I'm committed to making tour-level insight accessible to every golfer ready to put in the work.
