Teaching Philosophy
My coaching philosophy is built on three pillars: simplicity, athletic movement, and making golf genuinely enjoyable. I believe that when golfers — especially juniors — feel confident and have fun, the learning accelerates naturally. Too often, instruction becomes overcomplicated, and that's where players lose their love for the game. My job is to cut through the noise, give each student clear and actionable feedback, and build skills that translate from the practice range to the course. Whether I'm working with a first-time junior picking up a club or a high school athlete preparing for a state-level tournament, I tailor my approach to fit the individual. I emphasize athletic fundamentals — the kind of movements that feel natural and repeatable under pressure — while keeping the environment fun and competitive. I want every student who works with me to walk off the course more confident than when they arrived, and to carry a genuine love for this game with them for the rest of their life.
About the coach
I'm a PGA Associate and 2025 GRAA Top 100 Growth of the Game Teaching Professional based in Glen Ellyn, Illinois, with a deep passion for junior golf development. My work is rooted in one of the most active junior programs in the state — at Glen Oak Country Club, a storied private club in Chicago's western suburbs — where I serve as Assistant Golf Professional and lead instruction for juniors across all skill levels.
In addition to my club role, I serve as Head Golf Coach at Montini Catholic High School, where I work to build a competitive program capable of reaching the IHSA state championship level. My coaching experience spans multiple facilities in the Glen Ellyn area, giving me a broad perspective on what it takes to grow players from their very first swing all the way to high-level competition.
I hold a U.S. Kids Golf Level 2 Certification, which reflects my commitment to age-appropriate, developmentally sound instruction. I approach every lesson — whether in person or through video analysis — with the same goal: help each player develop real skills and a real love for the game. Golf has the power to shape character, build discipline, and create lifelong friendships. I'm honored to be a part of that journey for the players I coach.
