About the coach

Hi I’m Ben, a PGA Professional from Elgin in the North East of Scotland.

I’ve been coaching for 6 years now and have coached beginners, juniors right the way up to scratch team players and Club Champions. It is something I take tremendous pride in and I’m now looking to Skillest to take my coaching to the next level. As a coach I’m enthusiastic, I try to keep sessions fun and interesting. I’m very adaptable but have always found simplistic methods of coaching to be most successful for the majority of people I’ve coached.

I love coaching people of all skill levels and the flexibility of Skillest will allow me to open up new avenues both locally to Elgin and worldwide.

I currently coach 40 juniors per week in group sessions so I am looking forward to opening this up to the next generation and making some real progress over the coming winter months.

I was always someone who struggled with the game until I had ‘that lesson’ with the right coach at the right time. I went from a 9 handicap to 1 in just over a year, as a coach that is my ultimate goal to find that secret bit of advice that is going to elevate your game!

In my final season before turning Pro in 2017 I won my second club championship at Maverston Golf Club and still hold the course record there currently. I played for the Nairn Dunbar and Maverston Scratch team. I have not been playing as much golf over the last couple of seasons as I’ve a young family but I am looking at setting a few goals for my own game next year again.
