Teaching Philosophy
I believe great coaching should make golf clearer, not more complicated. Every golfer is different, so I don’t believe in teaching one method or trying to make every swing look the same. My role is to understand the player in front of me — their movement, tendencies, goals and available practice time — and build a plan that works for them. Having competed as a Welsh International and former touring professional, I’ve experienced first-hand the difference between making changes on the practice ground and being able to trust them when you’re under pressure on the golf course. That’s why everything we work on has a purpose: to help you play better golf, not simply create a better-looking swing. I use technology including TrackMan, Capto and video analysis to give us an objective picture of what’s happening, but I keep the information simple and relevant. Data should support coaching, not overwhelm the player. I also place a huge emphasis on structured practice and accountability. A lesson identifies what needs to change; real improvement comes from knowing exactly how to work on it between sessions. Whether you’re completely new to golf, trying to break a scoring barrier or competing at a high level, you’ll receive the same approach: clear feedback, an individual plan and measurable goals. Ultimately, I want every golfer I coach to understand their own game better, practise with purpose and step onto the course with more confidence.
About the coach
I’m an ex-Welsh International golfer and former touring professional with over 20 years of experience in the game, combining a competitive playing background with a modern, performance-led approach to coaching.
I now coach at the Tommy Fleetwood Academy at Yas Links Abu Dhabi, working with golfers of all levels to help them better understand their game, build more consistent technique and ultimately shoot lower scores.
My coaching combines simple, clear instruction with technology and data where it adds value. I’m TrackMan Level 2 and Capto Level 2 certified, allowing me to analyse both the full swing and putting in detail without overcomplicating things for the golfer.
Having competed internationally for Wales and played professionally, I understand the difference between making a swing look better and actually making it perform on the golf course. My coaching focuses on creating repeatable improvements that hold up when it matters.
