About the coach
Specialist Putting Coach & Staff Instructor at Phil Kenyon Putting @ TeeBox Leadenhall Street
Putting is a crucial aspect of golf that is often overshadowed by the allure of long drives.
However, it is this very element that can significantly lower your scores and can be practiced
with minimal space at home. Moreover, putting is one of the most accessible parts of the game to learn through online coaching, as it requires little equipment, time, or space. This makes it an ideal skill to hone at home or in the office.
My coaching philosophy is grounded in the fact-based principles from Phil Kenyon's Tour-tested and validated 'Putting Solutions' framework. I aim to maintain clear and concise
communication, ensuring that players understand their strokes and can develop a technique
that is both effective and enduring. The goal is not just rapid improvement but fostering a stroke that will withstand the test of time.
Golf equipment and technology have always been passions of mine. I am particularly keen on
integrating detailed technique analysis and club fitting into my coaching. This passion led to a
full-time career in this area, highlighted by my nine-year tenure at Callaway Golf's European
Performance Centre as their Senior Fitting Technician. During this period, I assisted a wide
range of golfers, from beginners to Challenge and European Tour players, as well as numerous
celebrities.
After leaving Callaway to focus entirely on coaching, I have built a strong reputation at Precision Golf in Surrey, UK, and Sunningdale Heath in Surrey, UK, where I specialized in putter coaching and fitting. I have been fortunate to work closely with Phil Kenyon for many years, including during my role with Callaway/Odyssey. Together, we co-developed the UK's Odyssey Fitting Programme.
As I refined my coaching methods, I frequently participated in Putting Solutions Training
Programmes. During these sessions, Phil Kenyon and I cultivated a close working relationship,
which eventually led to my inclusion in the Phil Kenyon Putting Team. I currently head the latest
satellite studio based at Tee Box in London.
My approach to putting coaching is deeply rooted in proven methodologies and enriched by
years of experience and collaboration with industry leaders. Whether you are a novice or a
seasoned player, my goal is to help you master your putting stroke and achieve lasting
improvements in your game
I have always kept my coaching knowledge up to date and on top of my PGA training I currently hold the following coaching accreditations:
• Qualified Kenyon Putting Instructor
• Quintic Ball Roll Level2 Putting Instructor
• Science & Motion Level 2 Putting Instructor

I finally understood why i was missing so many short putts partly because I was standing too far away from the ball and secondly because i was holding my putter too high as it was long. For medium and longer putts I was underestimating the slope of the green. I was also able to see the true relationship between the speed of the green and the starting line.

Fundamental realignment of stance and ball position allowed me to putt using my shoulder and torso turn rather than arms. Delighted with greater consistency of line and control

Unreal lesson with Mike, extremely knowledgeable and patient I felt like I learned more from that one lesson than I have done in years of playing golf

Great lesson Mike. Getting measured is always preferable to guessing. My take aways: Left hand low, squarer stance, flared right foot, lean over more-so eyes outside the ball, ball back and little to make the shaft more vertical, all set up really. Then try and feel as if I close the clubface on backswing and rotate the ribcage moving the right shoulder back. It feels really uncomfortable but that's where the learning is. Simples! Thanks again - glad you enjoyed the Plop putter.
