About the coach

I have been a PGA Australia member since 1986 and have been teaching golf since 1997. After playing professional golf on tour for over ten years I understand the difficulties involved in trying to get better or even maintaining skill. I know that improving requires constant feedback from trusted sources and that changes can take time but I do not believe that you have to go backwards before you can progress. I went through swing changes after having played professionally for five years so I know first hand some of the difficulties involved. However with putting improvement I feel that you can make changes and improvements as you go by learning to do drills and exercises that provide feedback. You can also implement changes in technique much more easily in putting compared to full swing. This video provides some background on my history in golf instruction including specialising in putting instruction in 2003. I have designed a number of training aids for students which have gone on to be well recognised as effective training tools and are used by coaches and players all around the world. I have had a long history in analysing putting strokes using the SAM PuttLab and pioneered breaking putt analysis. I have done thousands of putting lessons utilising video capture, SAM PuttLab analysis and the use of training aids and am able to interpret any PuttLab reports.
