Teaching Philosophy
My philosophy towards teaching golf begins with a simple but powerful progression: I start with ball flight and work backwards through the swing, always accounting for your unique anatomical considerations, to find what truly fits YOU. I am first and foremost a delivery coach — if I can improve both the quality and repeatability of how you deliver the club, we will without a doubt reach your goals together. I always take the time in each lesson to explain what needs to change, how we're going to create that change, and what it will do for your game going forward. I believe great golf isn't built through random bucket-hitting — it comes from structured, intentional practice. That's why every student leaves with a clear, personalized blueprint that empowers them with not just the 'what' but the 'how.' I'm passionate about the long-term development of every golfer I work with — whether that means pairing you with a fitness professional to support your longevity in the game, designing customized drills tailored to your specific goals, or using in-depth video analysis to make your swing changes visual and concrete. My commitment to continuing education — including earning my PGA Specialization in Teaching & Coaching — reflects my belief that learning never stops, for coaches or players alike.
About the coach
I'm a PGA Class-A Professional and founder of Flotte Golf Academy, based in San Antonio, Texas. Born and raised in Seattle, Washington, I launched my career in golf by joining the PGA Tour staff at TPC Summerlin in Las Vegas — an experience that shaped my dedication to excellence and player development at the highest level. While there, I completed the PGA's PGM Associate Program to earn Class-A status in 2019, and was encouraged by my mentors to pursue the PGA Specialized Professional Program in Teaching & Coaching.
I've been honored with the Southern Texas PGA Harvey Penick Teacher of the Year Award for the Western Chapter — a recognition named after the legendary Harvey Penick and awarded for overall excellence in golf instruction. My teaching has been shaped by world-class mentors including Top 100 Teachers Mario Bevilacqua, Jeff Smith, Joe Mayo, and Boyd Summerhays.
At Flotte Golf Academy, I offer in-depth swing analysis alongside swing model comparisons, fully customized practice plans, personalized drills, and regular check-in calls covering technique, game management, and mental training. I also created the FGA Ultimate Drill Course — a comprehensive training resource covering ball-striking, short game, and practice habits.
