Teaching Philosophy
My approach to coaching has always been rooted in one core belief: every player has more potential than they realize. My job is to help them unlock it. I work with golfers who want to compete — juniors chasing college scholarships, collegiate players pushing for conference titles, competitive amateurs reaching for scratch, and professionals refining their edge. I combine deep technical knowledge with cutting-edge tools like Gears Sports 3D motion capture to give my students the clearest, most accurate picture of their swing mechanics available anywhere in the game today. But data alone doesn't win tournaments — mindset, strategy, and practice quality do. I bring nine years of collegiate coaching experience to every lesson, which means I understand what it takes to perform under pressure, not just on the range. I meet each student where they are, build a personalized roadmap for improvement, and hold them accountable to the process. Whether you're competing at the highest levels or working toward your first competitive round, I'm committed to helping you get better — and get better fast.
About the coach
I'm a golf instructor and competitive performance coach based in Nashville, Tennessee, and the Director of Competitive Performance at Profectus Golf. I've spent my entire career in the game at the highest levels — coaching, instructing, and competing — and I bring that full spectrum of experience to every student I work with. Golf Digest has recognized me as one of the Best Teachers in Tennessee for 2026–27, a distinction I'm proud of and one that reflects the results my students achieve. My collegiate coaching career spans over nine years across three programs — starting as a volunteer assistant at Vanderbilt, then as Assistant Men's Golf Coach at Trevecca Nazarene University (where we won three consecutive GMAC Championships and reached the NCAA Super Regional), and later as Assistant Women's Golf Coach at Middle Tennessee State University. Along the way, I've coached conference Players of the Year and Freshmen of the Year, and I've developed a deep understanding of what it takes for competitive golfers to perform at their peak. As a full-time instructor, I've worked with players of all ability levels — from beginners to those competing at the professional level. I hold a B.S. in Leisure and Sport Management from MTSU. I specialize in player development for juniors, collegiate athletes, competitive amateurs, mid-amateurs, and professionals. My lessons are grounded in biomechanical precision, tactical awareness, and a relentless focus on improvement. If you're serious about competing and getting better, I want to work with you.
