Teaching Philosophy
I believe every golfer is unique — and so is their swing. My approach starts with understanding you as an individual: I use five specific evaluations and tests to identify your natural movement patterns before recommending a single change. From there, everything is tailored to work with your body, not against it. After 25+ years competing at the highest levels of the game — on the Asian, European, and Australian Tours — I've learned that simple, well-targeted instruction outperforms complex theory every time. I focus on giving you clear, actionable changes you can actually feel and repeat on the course. Whether you're trying to break 100 or take your game to a competitive level, the fundamentals are the same: understand your swing, fix what matters, and build consistency through purposeful practice. I've had the privilege of learning from some of the world's finest minds in instruction — Hall of Fame coach Mike Adams, also Andy Plummer and short game specialists James Sieckmann and Matthew Tipper, and putting coach Geoff Mangum. I bring that world-class education together with real tour experience to give my students an edge that goes beyond the range. My lessons include customised video analysis, personalised drills, and weekly check-ins — because improvement doesn't happen in one session, it happens over time with the right guidance.
About the coach
I'm a professional golfer and PGA of Australia member with over 25 years of experience competing on the Asian, European, and Australian Tours. Born in Perth, Western Australia, I turned professional in 1998 and went on to win three times on the Asian Tour, reach a career-high world ranking of 158, and finish as runner-up at the 2015 Made in Denmark on the European Tour — one of my proudest moments on the global stage.
Now based at Keysborough Golf Club in Melbourne, I channel everything I learned competing at the top level into helping golfers of all abilities shoot lower scores. My coaching is built around simplicity and personalisation — I use a structured five-point evaluation to understand your natural swing and body mechanics before prescribing any changes. Every student receives customised video analysis, tailored drills, and ongoing support designed to create lasting improvement.
I've invested heavily in my coaching education, studying under Hall of Fame instructor Mike Adams, short game legends James Sieckmann and Matthew Tipper, and the world's leading putting coach Geoff Mangum. That combination of elite playing experience and top-tier coaching knowledge means you get the best of both worlds — technical expertise and real-world insight from someone who has played for a living on four continents.
Whether you're chasing your first break-80 round or looking to take your competitive game to the next level, I'm here to help. Life is too short to play bad golf — let's fix that together.
