Teaching Philosophy

I believe great golf is built on three pillars: technical skill, smart strategy, and a resilient mental game. Over more than four decades of coaching, I've seen time and again that the players who improve fastest aren't necessarily the most talented — they're the ones who understand their own game, commit to deliberate practice, and develop the mental toughness to compete when it counts. My approach is personal and holistic. I don't believe in bombarding students with theory or overwhelming them with swing thoughts. Instead, I listen carefully, diagnose the real issue, and provide clear, actionable feedback that you can take to the range and onto the course immediately. I use video analysis alongside technologies like TrackMan, K-Vest, HackMotion and SensorEdge where relevant — not to impress, but because objective data accelerates learning. I'm also deeply committed to the mental side of the game. My NLP training and research inform how I help golfers build confidence, sharpen concentration, and stay composed under pressure — skills I've distilled into my book, 'An Iron Golf Mind'. Whether you're a four-year-old picking up a club for the first time, a club golfer trying to break 80, or a professional preparing for a national tournament, my goal is the same: to help you play closer to your potential and enjoy the journey along the way.
