About the coach
While teaching players of all ages and skill levels, Nick Kumpis has come to believe there is not one correct swing for everyone. His knowledge of golf swing mechanics, balanced with understanding of a student’s individual physical abilities and goals, gives him the ability to put anyone on the path to become a successful golfer. Nick’s career took off when the late, great Hall of Fame instructor Jim Flick handpicked Nick to join the Nicklaus/Flick Golf Schools. The youngest instructor on staff at that time, Nick honed his own teaching style working beside Jim Flick and Golf Digest Top 50 instructor Mike Malaska in golf schools, corporate outings and lessons . Nick also trained extensively with Hank Haney, teaching beside him at the ESPN Golf Schools, and moving to Texas by invitation, to study Haney’s methods at the Hank Haney Golf Ranch. Both Jim and Hank, are considered among America’s Greatest Teachers. In 2016, Golf Digest named Nick to its Best Young Teachers In America list, the only instructor hailing from Orange County, CA. Nick is the innovator behind iJuniorGolf, the first ever junior golf instruction app in the iTunes store. He is also creator and founder of SmartLine Putting, a green-reading method and ball marker he recently introduced to help players of all levels read greens more easily and improve their aim. Currently Director of Instruction at Santa Ana Country Club, Nick oversees the club’s private instruction, golf schools and junior programs. He is highly-skilled in video swing analysis, and is TPI (Titleist Performance Institute) Level 1 certified and TPI Junior Level 2 certified, as well as a Trackman Certified Professional Level 1.

Nick has pointed out exactly what I needed to work on and helped with drills to correct my misses and improve my contact at impact, would recommend for coaching and drills. Thanks Nick.
