Teaching Philosophy
My coaching philosophy is player-centred and built around developing functional impact, adaptable movement, and long-term skill. I help golfers understand ball flight, improve impact conditions, and develop movement patterns that work for their individual game — rather than forcing a one-size-fits-all swing model.
About the coach
Player-Centred Golf Coaching | Skill Development Through Self-Organisation
My coaching philosophy is built around helping players develop their own efficient movement patterns rather than forcing a one-size-fits-all swing model.
I believe great golf swings are self-organised solutions to the task of delivering the club effectively. Every player moves differently, learns differently, and performs differently under pressure. My role as a coach is to guide that process — not control it.
Over the years I’ve worked with players across every level of the game, including coaching US Open winner and MBE Alison Nicholas, as well as numerous European Tour professionals including Brett Rumford, John Parry, Tom Whitehouse, Raphael de Sousa and many more.
My coaching draws heavily from modern motor learning, skill acquisition, biomechanics, and the player-development philosophies seen throughout elite golf. The focus is always on functional impact, adaptability, and long-term improvement rather than chasing aesthetic positions.
What You Can Expect:• Player-centred coaching tailored to the individual• Clear and simple communication• External-focus coaching rather than technical overload• Skill development through drills, constraints, and feedback• Improved strike quality, clubface control, sequencing, and consistency• Training that transfers from the range to the golf course
I work with players to develop:• Athletic and repeatable movement• Better low-point and strike control• Improved face-to-path awareness• Pressure management and on-course adaptability• Ownership and understanding of their own swing
My philosophy is influenced by many of the best modern player-development environments in golf:• Functional movement over perfect-looking positions• Individuality over model swings• Long-term development over quick fixes• Competitive skill over range-only mechanics• Learning through doing, exploring, and adapting
Whether you are a beginner, competitive amateur, or elite player, the goal is the same:Build a golf swing and skill set that performs under pressure and belongs to you.
Coaching Areas:• Swing development• Strike and compression• Driver performance• Skill acquisition and motor learning• Junior player development• Tournament preparation• Practice design and performance training
The best players in the world don’t all swing the same — but they all learn to control impact. That’s the foundation of my coaching.

Brilliant lesson. Simple, clear and to the point with ideas of how to implement these in practice and hopefully take them to the course !!
