Teaching Philosophy

My philosophy is simple: golf should be enjoyable for all, and improvement should feel achievable. I believe that every golfer — regardless of ability — has the potential to be better, and my job is to make that journey as clear, engaging, and rewarding as possible. I break complex movements and techniques down into easy-to-understand concepts, so you always leave a session with clear feelings and thoughts to take to your next practice session. I don't believe in one-size-fits-all instruction. Every golfer is different, so I take the time to understand your game, your goals, and how you learn best before building a coaching plan tailored specifically to you. I'm also a great believer in improving a player's short game and love to get my players confident from 100yds and in. Whether you're picking up a club for the first time, looking to break 80, or competing at a high elite level, I want your time with me to be enjoyable, productive, and confidence-building. My goal is always to help you 'be the best you can be' — on the golf course and in your own personal golf journey.

About the coach

I'm a PGA Golf Professional with over 20 years of coaching experience and 30 years involved in the game. I passed my PGA Diploma with Merit in 2003 and have been based at Broome Manor Golf Complex in Swindon, Wiltshire ever since — now serving as Head Coach at SP Golf Academy. Over the course of my career, I've delivered thousands of lessons to golfers of every level, from complete beginners and junior academy players right through to England players and Professionals. I'm also proud to have served as a Wiltshire County Junior Elite Coach, helping shape the next generation of competitive golfers. Before dedicating myself fully to coaching, I represented my county at junior, youth, and men's levels, and played for the South West Team — so I understand what it takes to perform under the pressure and how to help students do the same. My coaching style is easy to understand, hands-on, technology-supported, and — above all — personalised. Coaching is my passion. I love working with players of all abilities, watching them grow in skill and confidence, and helping them enjoy every step of their golf journey. How do I receive feedback from my coach?

You will receive feedback from your coach through the Skillest app. Your coach will record their own videos with their analysis as well as additional drills to work on and send them back to you inside the lesson. You can watch your coach’s analysis, which may include video, audio, text, or drawings and see the changes and improvements they suggest for your swing. You can also ask your coach follow-up questions you have, and chat with them through the app. You can also review your feedback and track your progress anytime on the app.

What are the different types of lesson plans I can purchase?
