About the coach
Karyn Dallas is widely recognised as one of Scotland’s leading coaches. She played on the Ladies European Tour for five years before becoming an assistant professional at Gleneagles Hotel, where Karyn qualified as Scotland's Top PGA Training Professional in 1994 - the first female to achieve this accolade and saw her secure 6th Top Trainee in UK & Europe
During her time at Gleneagles, Karyn took on a part time commentary position with Sky TV to commentate on golf. She thoroughly enjoyed this experience but the travelling back and forward to London alongside her role at Gleneagles, where she had advanced to Teaching Coordinator, was proving too demanding. Karyn left Sky TV to focus on coaching and family.
She left Gleneagles in 1998 to become the Head Professional at Kirriemuir Golf Club where she would stay for 20 years (advancing to General Manager in the latter years) and develop her ground breaking Junior Program Total Golf. At its peak, the program taught over 150 children per week (not bad for a small rural town of 4000 inhabitants). The program would transform the way golf was taught to children; it attracted the interest of The Golf Foundation and was a helping template for Sports Scotland's Clubgolf initiative.
Karyn became Scotland's Ladies National Coach in 2001 and presided over their most lucrative period. More players, from her tenure, became tournament professional golfers than in the rest of time put together. Her 2004 Scottish Girls team won the Home Internationals by the biggest margin in the history of the tournament and four juniors from that same squad would make up half of the 2005 Curtis Cup Team to face America. A great outcome for Scotland.
Karyn was also honoured to become Scottish National Coach to the Girls squads as well as Regional Coach positions over the years since 2006.
Moving forward, Karyn became a mentor at Birmingham University to more than 100 students studying for a PGA golf degree and is currently teaching at Forfar Golf Club. Her reputation for making golf simple to understand coupled with her interpersonal skills has ensured that Karyn remains one of Scotland's busiest coaches.
And she still hasn't lost it, in 2024, players coached by Karyn competed in the final of both the Scottish Men's and Scottish Ladies National Championships.

Karyn is an excellent coach I worked with the same coach from my teenage years and completely lost my swing the last two years having been category 1 my whole playing career. She is really patient and explains things effortlessly. Working with Karyn has been great and I look forward to putting the work in to get my game back under her guidance.
