Teaching Philosophy
My coaching philosophy is built around one idea: every golfer deserves a plan that's built specifically for them. I don't believe in cookie-cutter instruction. I combine detailed video swing analysis, data-driven insights using the Clippd app, and smart course management strategies to build a complete, personalized roadmap for each student's game. I work especially well with mid-handicap golfers who are serious about breaking into single digits. In my experience, that jump doesn't just come from swing mechanics — it comes from mastering the scoring shots, making smarter decisions on the course, and developing the mental resilience to execute under pressure. That's where I focus my energy. Whether we're working on your full swing, dialing in your short game, or building a course management mindset, my goal is always the same: give you the tools and the confidence to shoot lower scores and enjoy the game more. I believe in ongoing communication, customized drills, and real accountability — because improvement doesn't happen after one lesson, it happens through a consistent, structured process. I'm passionate about this game and passionate about helping my students grow. Let's get to work.
About the coach
I'm a PGA Professional and Head Golf Professional at Magnolia Greens Golf Club in Leland, North Carolina, with a passion for the game that started when I first picked up a club at age 3. Growing up between Ithaca, New York, and Wilmington, North Carolina, golf shaped who I am — and sharing that love of the game with my students is what drives me every single day.
After playing collegiate golf at Cape Fear Community College and graduating from the Golf Academy of America in Myrtle Beach, I built my career from the ground up — starting at Pine Valley Country Club, advancing to River Landing Country Club as an Assistant Professional, and ultimately earning my PGA Membership in 2022. In 2023, I was appointed Head Golf Professional at Magnolia Greens, where I now coach golfers of all skill levels.
My specialty is helping mid-handicap golfers break into the single digits. I do this through a combination of in-depth swing analysis, personalized improvement plans, short game mastery, and course management strategies that translate directly to lower scores on the scorecard. I also use performance data tools to give students an honest, clear picture of where their game stands and what to focus on next.
Beyond in-person lessons here in Leland, NC, I offer remote coaching to students anywhere in the world — giving you access to the same level of expert instruction and feedback no matter where you live. If you're serious about improving your game, I'm serious about helping you get there.
