Teaching Philosophy

I believe great coaching should be accessible, personal, and built around you. Every golfer is different — different bodies, different goals, different schedules — and my job is to meet you exactly where you are. Whether you're a complete beginner or someone who's been playing for years and can't quite crack that magical 80, I'll give you the honest feedback and practical tools you need to make real, lasting improvement. I coach using tried and tested Leadbetter methods, which means we build on sound fundamentals: grip, posture, alignment, and a repeatable swing. But it doesn't stop there. The game is also played between the ears, so I incorporate course management and the psychology of pressure moments into every coaching relationship. Knowing how to think on the course is just as important as how you swing. I use detailed video analysis so you can see exactly what's happening in your swing, and I provide customised drills and demonstration videos so you know precisely what to work on and how. With AI-assisted practice built into our sessions, you can train with real intent between lessons — not just hitting balls and hoping for the best. I'm a coach in your pocket, available when you need me, and genuinely invested in your progress.

About the coach

I'm an Leadbetter-qualified golf coach based in Kingston upon Hull with over 25 years of experience helping golfers of all levels enjoy this incredible game more. I earned my EGTF teaching qualification back in 1999 and have been coaching ever since, most recently adding a GLE Level 1 certification in 2025 to stay at the cutting edge of modern instruction.

My coaching is grounded in Leadbetter methods — a globally recognised, fundamentals-first approach that has helped players at every level build a more consistent and repeatable swing. I combine that proven framework with the latest in video analysis and AI-assisted practice tools, so every lesson is specific, measurable, and directly tied to your goals on the course.

Whether you want to sort out a frustrating swing fault, get smarter around the course, or finally break that elusive 80, I'll build a personalised plan to get you there.
