Teaching Philosophy
I believe the best golf coaching comes from someone who truly understands what it takes to compete at the highest level — and who can translate that knowledge into simple, actionable improvements for players of every ability. Having competed on the DP World Tour and Hotel Planner Tour, I know the difference between good habits and great ones, and I bring that perspective into every lesson I give. My approach is straightforward: I focus on identifying the real root cause of what's holding you back, not just the symptoms. Whether that's a chronic slice, a putting issue, or inconsistency from tee to green, I break things down clearly and show you exactly what to change and why. I use customised video demonstrations so you can see the changes in your own swing, and I make sure you leave every session knowing precisely what to work on. I work with all types of golfers — complete beginners who are just picking up a club for the first time, weekend club players looking to lower their handicap, and competitive players chasing tour ambitions. No matter where you are in your game, I'll meet you there and build a plan that works for you. My goal is to make improvement feel achievable and the process genuinely enjoyable.
About the coach
I'm a PGA Professional and active tour player with competitive experience on the DP World Tour and Hotel Planner Tour, and I'm passionate about sharing everything I've learned from elite competition to help golfers of all levels improve.
I turned professional in 2019 and have competed across leading UK and European professional circuits, including winning three events on the Tartan Pro Tour — the Gleneagles Masters, the Leven Links Classic and the Portlethen Classic. That playing career isn't just a badge of honour; it shapes every lesson I give, because I understand firsthand what's required to build a reliable, repeatable game under pressure.
Alongside my playing schedule, I've built over six years of coaching experience working with an incredibly diverse range of golfers — from total beginners stepping onto the range for the first time, to competitive amateurs, club players, and even touring professionals. I offer in-person lessons at Lochview Family Golf Centre's driving range in Coatbridge, as well as online lessons with a guaranteed response time of under 48 hours.
My lessons are detail-oriented but always practical — I'll spot what others might miss, explain the why behind every change, and give you a clear, focused plan you can take straight to the course. If you're ready to make real progress in your game, I'd love to work with you.
