Teaching Philosophy
I believe that every golfer — regardless of age, ability, or ambition — deserves coaching that is clear, personalised, and built around real data. My approach combines traditional coaching fundamentals with the very best technology available, including TrackMan 4, HackMotion, Toptracer, SAM PuttLab, and Visio putting aids. These tools allow me to give you precise, objective feedback on exactly what's happening in your swing, rather than relying on guesswork. But technology is only part of the picture. I place enormous value on communication — listening to what you want to achieve, understanding your game, and breaking things down in a way that genuinely makes sense to you. Whether you're a complete beginner picking up a club for the first time, a high handicapper looking to break through a barrier, or an elite amateur chasing peak performance, I tailor every session to your individual needs. I also have a deep passion for junior golf and love helping young players build solid, lasting foundations. My goal in every lesson is simple: to make you a noticeably better golfer, and to make sure you enjoy the journey getting there.
About the coach
I'm a PGA Teaching Professional based at Forthview Golf Range in Falkirk, Scotland, where I run FG Golf Instruction — a coaching business dedicated to helping golfers of every level play better golf. Over more than three years of full-time coaching, I've worked with over 1,000 players, from complete beginners picking up a club for the very first time, through to elite amateur competitors pushing for the highest levels of the game. I coach at one of central Scotland's finest facilities, equipped with 19 Toptracer-powered bays, a state-of-the-art TrackMan tuition bay, and a dedicated Putting Studio featuring SAM PuttLab, SAM BalanceLab, and Visio putting aids. As the owner of a TrackMan 4, HackMotion wrist sensor, and Bal On technology, I bring a genuinely data-rich environment to every session — meaning the feedback you receive is always precise, objective, and actionable. I offer one-to-one lessons, group sessions, on-course coaching, and online lessons with video analysis, making expert instruction accessible no matter where you're based. I also offer custom club fitting and club repairs, so I can support every aspect of your game. Junior golf is a real passion of mine — I love helping young players discover the game and build the technical foundation to take them as far as they want to go.
