Teaching Philosophy
I believe great instruction doesn't come from gimmicks or trendy swing theories — it comes from fundamentals that have stood the test of time and been proven at the highest levels of the game. Growing up in the Massengale family, I had a front-row seat to what it takes to compete and win on the PGA Tour. My father Don and uncle Rik didn't just inspire me to play — they showed me what disciplined, principled golf looks like, and I've carried that into everything I do as a teacher. Every student I work with is a unique individual. You have your own body, your own athletic background, and your own goals — and my job is to help you swing the best version of your own swing, not force you into a one-size-fits-all mold. I use detailed video analysis to break down the swing and communicate clearly what's happening and why, so you understand the changes we're making and can trust the process. Beyond mechanics, I deeply believe that golf builds character — integrity, patience, and hard work. Whether you're a junior just picking up a club for the first time, an adult trying to break 90, or a competitive player chasing a scratch handicap, I bring the same care and commitment to your game. My faith guides how I treat people, and I strive to make every lesson an encouraging, productive experience. Let's build something great together.
