Teaching Philosophy
My coaching philosophy is built on the belief that every golfer — regardless of level — has untapped potential just waiting to be unlocked. I take a holistic approach to improvement, meaning I don't just work on your swing mechanics. I look at the full picture: your technique, your strategic thinking on the course, and your mental game. Golf is as much a mental challenge as a physical one, and building solid routines and mental toughness is just as important as perfecting your ball-striking. I create personalised training plans tailored specifically to your goals and current skill level, because no two golfers are the same. Whether you're a complete beginner trying to make sense of the fundamentals or an experienced player looking to sharpen a specific part of your game, I'll meet you exactly where you are. I use the latest swing analysis tools to give you clear, objective feedback — so you're not guessing what needs to change, you can see it for yourself. Most importantly, I want every session to feel productive and enjoyable. Golf should be fun, and I believe the best progress happens when students feel supported, understood, and motivated. My goal is to be the coach who guides you every step of the way on your golfing journey.
About the coach
I'm a PGA Assistant Golf Professional based at Shrewsbury Golf Club, where I coach golfers of all abilities from our modern coaching bay. With a genuine passion for the game and for helping people improve, I've built my coaching practice around delivering real, measurable results — whether that's a lower handicap, more consistency off the tee, or simply more confidence and enjoyment on the course.
Since beginning my coaching career, I've completed over 1000 lessons and worked with a wide range of players, from first-time beginners to competitive club golfers. I've helped numerous students achieve personal bests and win competitions, and that sense of shared achievement is what drives me every day.
My approach combines personalised lesson plans with advanced swing analysis technology, allowing me to identify exactly what's holding your game back and give you a clear, actionable path forward. I also place a strong emphasis on the mental side of golf — building the routines and resilience that help you perform under pressure and stay consistent round after round.
