Teaching Philosophy
I believe great coaching comes down to one thing: clearly identifying cause and effect. Too much instruction in this game is built around quick fixes and feel-good tips that don't hold up past the lesson. What I've learned after 20 years in this sport — teaching golfers from beginner to elite level, across Melbourne, London, Singapore, and everywhere in between — is that lasting improvement requires patience, structure, and a genuine commitment to understanding why your swing does what it does. My approach is rooted in the principles I developed under one of Australia's greatest coaches, Gary Edwin, and refined through thousands of hours on the lesson tee and online. I'm obsessed with breaking things down to their simplest, most actionable form — not dumbing it down, but stripping away the noise so you can focus on what actually moves the needle. I use video analysis and launch monitor data to make the invisible visible, and I design practice plans that create real, measurable change over time. I also believe deeply in the coach-student relationship. Golf improvement isn't just about swing analysis — it's about having a mentor who checks in on you, holds you accountable, and adjusts the plan as you progress. Whether you're working with me in person or remotely, you'll always know exactly what you're working on and why. That clarity is what separates students who improve from those who spin their wheels.
About the coach
I'm a PGA Professional with over 20 years in the golf industry, and teaching this game is my life's work. My journey began at Albert Park Driving Range in Melbourne, where a single lesson at age 17 sparked a passion that has taken me around the world.
After completing my Griffith University Golf Management degree and training under one of Australia's most respected coaches, Gary Edwin — becoming a Level 3 Instructor in his system — I set off to test myself on the global stage. I taught at Central London Golf Centre, becoming one of the city's most sought-after instructors, before being invited to Singapore to lead the elite junior coaching program at the Singapore Sports School. These experiences, working with golfers of every background and ability, shaped the coach I am today.
Back in Australia, I channelled everything I'd learned into building Skillest — the world's largest online golf coaching marketplace — as a way to connect passionate golfers with world-class instruction regardless of where they live. To date, I've personally delivered over 5,300 online lessons through the platform, and my coaching has helped students reach the very highest levels of the game, including a student who recently secured his PGA TOUR card.
I've also been recognised by GOLF Magazine and GOLF.com as a forward-thinking voice in modern instruction, and I continue to write and speak about the future of coaching.
