About the coach

I am a Class A PGA of America Member and also the co-owner/operator of Axis Golf Academy. Born and raised just down the road in Brenham, I was an active athlete in many sports before falling in love with golf. I attended a school focused on golf management after finishing high school. I then decided that focusing on teaching/coaching was the proper career avenue. I began teaching full time alongside Golf Magazine Top 100 Teacher Kevin Kirk in 2001 at Cypresswood Golf Club in North Houston and in 2007 helped establish The Woodlands Golf Performance Center at The Woodlands CC. In 2015, along with business partners Ben Willman and EJ Kim, we started Axis Golf Academy at Woodforest GC. In 2020 we moved our academy to its current location…. Blackhorse GC. I have been very fortunate to coach and learn from some of the best players on the PGA Tour, LPGA Tour, Korn Ferry Tour, Ladies European Tour. I also have had the opportunity to continue learning from some of the best and most well respected coaches in the world! I enjoy the challenge of helping players learn how to play better golf and achieve their goals. I was previously named 2019 Southern Texas PGA Harvey Penick Teacher of the year and 2023 Southern Texas PGA Professional Development Award . I have various certifications in teaching, biomechanics, various golf technology tools and club fitting.
