Teaching Philosophy
My coaching philosophy is simple: cut through the noise and get straight to what matters for your game. I've never believed in a one-size-fits-all approach — every golfer has a unique body, athletic background, and set of goals, and my job is to meet you where you are. Whether you're a junior working toward a college scholarship, a competitive amateur chasing a scratch handicap, or an executive athlete looking for a reliable game, the plan I build for you will be tailored specifically to you. I draw on over two decades of experience working at every level of the game — from juniors and high schoolers, to Division I collegiate players, to LPGA and PGA Tour professionals. That breadth of experience shapes how I see a swing and how I communicate what needs to change. I'm known for being easy-going and direct — I don't pile on swing thoughts or overwhelm you with theory. I find the one or two things that will make the biggest difference and we work on those. Technology is a huge part of what I offer. My background in 3D motion analysis means I can show you — in objective, measurable terms — exactly what your body and club are doing, and exactly what world-class movement looks like. This removes guesswork and gives you confidence that the work you're doing on the range will translate to the course.
About the coach
I'm a PGA Professional and Golf Digest award-winning instructor with over 22 years of experience developing golfers at every level of the game. I founded Athletes Edge Golf Academy following three years as the Director of Instruction at Monterey Peninsula Country Club — one of the most prestigious private clubs in the country — and my career has taken me from Nike Golf Schools and junior development programs to the Tour Striker Golf Academy in Phoenix, where I coached players earning Division I college scholarships and consulted with competitors on both the PGA and LPGA Tours.
Golf Digest has recognized me as one of their Best Young Teachers from 2016 through 2021, and as Best in State in both California and Arizona across multiple years. I've also been named to Golf Tips Magazine's Top 30 Instructors list and serve as a contributing writer for the publication. My teaching mentors include PGA Tour coaches Andy Plummer, Mike Bennett, and Dana Dahlquist — some of the sharpest minds in the instruction world — and that foundation informs everything I do with my students.
At Athletes Edge Golf Academy, I've built a coaching environment that brings elite-level tools to every type of player. I specialize in 3D motion analysis, which lets me give you objective, data-backed feedback that goes far beyond what you can see with the naked eye. I work with competitive juniors, collegiate golfers, and ambitious adults who want real, lasting results — not just a quick tip. My style is relaxed and direct: I'll find the root cause of your swing issues fast and give you a clear, actionable plan. If you're ready to take your game seriously, I'm ready to help.
