Teaching Philosophy
My philosophy is simple: learn to play golf before you learn to swing a golf club. That's the approach that gave me the edge growing up in Adelaide, and it's the foundation of everything I do as a coach. Golf is a game of strategy, feel, and mindset — the swing is just one piece of the puzzle. I take a holistic, new-age approach that covers all three pillars: in-person coaching, online lessons, and on-course guidance. Together, we Identify what's holding you back, Educate you on why it's happening, Implement the right changes, and Empower you to own your game. I use data-driven analysis alongside personalised video demonstrations and customised drills so you not only know what to fix, but how your body and swing will feel once you do. Whether you're an absolute beginner finding your feet or a competitive player chasing lower scores, I believe everyone deserves access to world-class coaching. Having competed at the highest levels — from winning tournaments to representing Australia internationally — I bring real playing experience to every lesson. I'm not just teaching theory; I'm sharing what actually works under pressure on the course.
About the coach
I'm an Advanced PGA Professional and WPGA Tour of Australasia player based in Adelaide, Australia, with nearly 20 years of experience in golf — both as a competitor and as a coach. Growing up as a star junior in Adelaide, I won the SA Junior Amateur Championship twice and had my sights set on the LPGA and Ladies European Tour. That competitive journey took me all the way to international play, including appearances on the Ladies European Tour, before I channelled that experience into building a coaching career I'm truly passionate about.
After six years dedicated to coaching, I returned to the WPGA Tour in 2024 and opened with a victory at the Melbourne International — proof that staying close to the game at the highest level sharpens everything I bring to my students. I know what it takes to compete, to recover, and to keep improving, and I bring all of that into every session.
My coaching business, Emma Ash Golf, offers the ultimate trio: in-person, online, and on-course lessons — giving golfers everywhere access to the same high-quality guidance. I stay at the forefront of the latest technologies and data-driven tools so I can deliver coaching that's as precise as it is practical. Every lesson includes customised video analysis and personalised drills tailored to your unique swing and goals.
