About the coach

Hello, I am Matt Lockey PGA Golf Professional. Some of you might also know me as Coach Lockey too. Thank you for checking out my profile. Have you every had a golf lesson and come away more confused or none the wiser? I have this conversation with lots of my students and pride myself on ensuring no one leaves a lesson with me with this question. I like to take my students on a tailored journey that is personalised to their goals and golfing development. I work hard looking at your data and stats prior to lessons to ensure that we don’t use your valuable lesson time talking about this. It also means I get to know your golf inside out and can generate a starting point for your journey. I have a laid back coaching approach and enjoy spending time with my students. Coach Lockey went above and beyond my expectations. He is a great communicator, first really trying to understand my game and goals for the lesson before jumping into analysis and then following up afterwards to check on progress. Coach is fantastic - take a lesson with him. Your game will thank you!

Good individual analysis on my swing that was focussed on issues that I had identified to Coach Lockey. I was provided with drills that gave me clear direction but also the ownership of how to implement the changes in my swing moving forward. There was genuine interest from Coach in how I was able to complete the drills and the outcome of my practice.
