Teaching Philosophy
My foremost principle is to make you a better golfer — not just to improve the aesthetics of your swing. Functionality over image is always at the core of what I do. As a player, I always found that simplicity of language and a clear understanding of exactly what was required were pivotal to my ability to replicate changes when I was away from my coach. I bring that same clarity to every lesson I give. I use the latest technology, including TrackMan 4, to provide tangible data that justifies the changes we're making and gives you real reference points to track your progress. But beyond the technical, I believe great coaching means being more than just a teacher of a swing philosophy — it means being a true coach. That's why I offer open communication between lessons so we stay on track together, whether you have a question, want to share a practice video, or just need a check-in. I've been coached remotely myself, with one of my coaches based in the USA throughout my career, so I understand exactly what it takes to make that kind of relationship work. Whatever your current level — whether you're chasing a tour card or trying to break 100 — I know I can add value to your progression.
About the coach
I'm a former DP World Tour and European Challenge Tour professional, now fully dedicated to helping golfers at every level reach their potential. I spent over a decade competing on tour, graduating from the University of Tennessee with All-American honours before going on to play in more than 200 professional tournaments — including winning the Turkish Airlines Challenge in 2010 on just my second Challenge Tour start. When my playing career came to an end, coaching was the natural next step. I wanted to take everything I'd learned — working alongside world-renowned coaches, competing at the highest level, and experiencing the mental and technical demands of elite golf — and use it to help others enjoy this sport the way it gave joy to me. I'm based in Southport, England, and also coach at Kirby Muxloe GC in Leicester, but I work with students worldwide through video analysis and online lessons. My experience of being coached remotely throughout my own playing career means I know exactly how to make that relationship thrive. I use TrackMan 4 to back up every lesson with real data, and I offer ongoing communication between sessions so you're never left without support. Whether your goal is to lower your handicap, improve your consistency, or simply enjoy the game more, I'm committed to helping you get there.
