How To Record Your Golf Swing
Posted by
If you want to record your golf swing to get an online golf lesson on Skillest, make sure you record from the correct camera angles. You can either ask somebody to record your swing for you or you can buy a camera / phone stand so you can record your own golf swing.
Choosing The Right Phone Stand
Phone Tripod
I like using a tripod because it is easy to setup and move around. Also, you can use the tripod to take non-golf related pictures as well.
You need to make sure that your tripod can extend to be tall enough to record from hip height. Here is a photo of the phone tripod stand I use.
Golf Bag Attachment
Another option many golfers use is a device to attach your phone to your golf bag. These devices are nice because they are small and fit in your golf bag.

Getting The Right Camera Angles
The right camera angles make all the difference. Most golf instructors like to see your golf swing from two different perspectives, Face On and Down The Line.
Face On
The “face on” or “front on” view is shown in the image. It’s important for the camera to be positioned at hand height and directly in front of the golfer.
You also want to make sure that when you take a full swing, the whole shaft of the club is visible in the video for your entire swing.
Down The Line
The “down the line” or “DTL” view is shown in the image. It’s important for the camera to be positioned at hand height and directly down the foot line.
You also want to make sure that when you take a full swing, the whole shaft of the club is visible in the video for your entire swing.
