About the coach
New to Skillest, but not to coaching golf. George is the founder of George Roy Golf, and has been a professional golf coach since 2010. He was elected to PGA membership in 2014, and has since served as a Director of Instruction at Breton Bay Golf&CC in Leonardtown MD, the Grand Reserve GC in Palm Coast, FL, and Royal Saint Augustine GC in Saint Augustine, FL where he’s coached both amateurs and professionals. While in MD, George devoted his time to coaching golf to wounded veterans, through SMGA, as a rehabilitative outlet for both PTSD and severe physical traumas. The challenge of teaching adaptive golf inspired George to study beyond the normal scope of golf instruction and into the fields of Neuroscience, Motor Learning, and Skill Development. In 2015, he launched the award-winning LowZone training system which has been utilized in coaching programs across 14 countries, and has since created the training games Chip-Tac-Toe and Fore2. He’s coached juniors at the national level, HS and College players, PGA professionals, seen some of his adaptive students go on to represent US Teams in the Simpson Cup and Courage Cup, and had multiple students selected for competition in the annual Bush Warrior Open. With over a decade of experience and thousands of hours on the lesson tee, George has a keen understanding of how to form an attack plan and implement training approaches that help students overcome challenges, reach goals, and excel in their performance.

Again, George gives a description of how to become better and more consistent better than anyone. Using his Stroke Sticks is a no brainer when working on putting distance control.

George makes learning the swing fun and easy. He makes it understandable in a way that YOU can actually DO what he says. He knows adapting a repeatable swing to someone with physical limitations as well.
