About the coach
Chris Gallaher has spent over a decade immersed in the process of developing golfers who want more than short-term fixes.
After beginning his coaching journey and joining the PGA in 2014 at Ireland’s leading academy, Johnny Foster Golf, Chris spent eight years coaching there before moving into a High Performance Coach role with Altus Performance in Shenzhen, China. He is now back coaching in Ireland, working both in person and online with committed players worldwide.
Chris has coached and developed national champions, international representatives, collegiate athletes, and professionals competing on the DP World Tour, Challenge Tour and Asian Tour — while also continuing to work with serious club golfers and juniors who are ready to train properly and improve long term.
At the core of Chris’s coaching is a clear, process-driven philosophy.
Technique is treated as a task-specific solution, not a fixed movement. You train reliable baseline pattern but then have the tools to adapt to varying situations on the golf course.
Practice is structured with intent, balancing long-term development, performance preparation and tournament golf rehearsal.
Progress is built through clarity of purpose, precise feedback, and a shared commitment to the plan that we set together.
Chris’s true passion lies in high-performance environments and long-term player development. Coaching, in his view, is a partnership. The standard of player really isn't important, the willingness to engage in the process in the long run is.
If you’re looking for improvements that last, want clear structure in how you train each day, and value a coach who cares deeply about both performance and development, this is where the work starts.

Chris is a fantastic instructor! He explains things clearly and simply. After just one lesson I came away with more confidence on what Im working on.

Ive worked with Chris for the past number of years. Rather than a quick fix solution, Chris takes a longer term view, focusing on tendencies and patterns in how a student swings the club. My average score has came down in this period, due to improved technique as well as better decision making. Chris was able to help diagnose low hanging opportunities to improve scoring by analysing my stats. Chris is knowledgable about the game and clearly passionate about what he does. Each session is enjoyable and he ensures a student leaves with clarity on what to practice, rather than just beating balls at the range. Thanks for all the help to date.

Working with Chris has been a game-changer for my golf. From the very first session he gave me a clear, structured plan of what I needed to work on and why. His explanations are incredibly easy to understand, and the videos and notes he provides after each lesson make it simple to stay on track between sessions. In just a short space of time Ive already seen huge improvements and finally feel like Im practising with purpose instead of guessing. Chriss attention to detail, communication, and genuine interest in helping you improve is second to none. Couldnt recommend Chris highly enough first class coach.

Working with Chris over the past number of months has been hugely insightful. Chris is extremely knowledgeable when it comes to the golf swing and this comes across in our lessons. What Ive valued most is how he breaks things down into simple tasks with simple instructions in order to help me stick to my plan. My practice sessions now have added purpose and structure which have helped me remain consistent in my approach to improving and becoming a better player as I move into 2026.

Chris approach really simplifies things. He was able to set out a plan for making some necessary changes in a structure that made sense. You leave the lesson with a clear and easy to follow practice plan equipping you to put the effort in yourself between lessons.
